Elon Musk's daughter, transgender model Vivian Wilson, took to the runway this week during Alexis Bittar's New York Fashion Week show.
On Friday night (September 12), the 21-year-old strutted down the catwalk while wearing a shimmering red gown and "Miss South Carolina" sash during the pageant-themed fashion presentation. Wilson is the eldest daughter and second child of Musk and his first ex-wife, Justine Musk, whom he divorced in 2008 after eight years of marriage.
According to the brand, the fashion show's 'Miss USA 1991' theme' was in protest of "misogyny, unchecked predators [and] objectification," while standing for trans rights. The sash was fitting for Wilson, who advocates for trans rights, and her outfit was in protest of South Carolina, a state that has banned gender-affirming care for transgender minors since January.
"The states that we are representing are states where trans rights are currently being stripped away in," Wilson told Nylon backstage. "The one message is that we all have to kind of make a stand against that together. Fashion and art is a great way to go about that."
Musk has disowned his second eldest child since she came out as trans in 2020, and two years later, Wilson legally requested a name change, wanting to dissociate from her biological father.
In an interview with Teen Vogue earlier this year, Wilson called her father a "pathetic man-child." "Why should I be scared of this man? Because he's rich?" she continued. "Oh, no, I'm trembling. Ooh, shivering in my boots here. I don't give a fuck how much money anyone has. I don't. I really don't. He owns Twitter. Okay. Congratulations."
Musk has 14 children, and his youngest was reportedly born last September.
