Born X Raised is taking its Los Angeles-rooted identity global with a new sport-inspired collection.
The streetwear staple’s "WORLDWIDE" collection arrives Friday (June 19) at 12pm PST, exclusively on bornxraised.com.
Five countries anchor the collection: Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Spain, and Japan. Each gets the same jersey-inspired tee carrying the same bold Old English typography in flag-inspired color ways. Also in the collection is a cheeky ode to the iconic Kappa logo with latex-laden women.
At the center of the collection is a Mexico-inspired track jacket, which Becky G recently sported.
The collection also features an airbrushed-inspired Speedy Gonzales Looney Tunes collab hoodie, continuing brand's ongoing relationship with Looney Tunes. Born X Raised launched its broader "That's All Folks" Looney Tunes drop on June 12, which featured a Speedy Gonzales racing jacket billed as a collector piece.
Earlier this year, Born X Raised dropped a World Baseball Classic capsule centered on Mexico, featuring Nike jerseys. Prior to that, Born X Raised also put their touch on Diablos Rojos baseball jerseys and caps in collaboration with New Era.
That through-line from Venice to Mexico City to a five-country global collection is deliberate. Co-founder Chris "Spanto" Printup, who passed away in 2023, shaped the label as a cultural archive of a shifting Los Angeles, drawing from punk, hip-hop, skateboarding, surfing, and Chicano and Latino culture in equal measure.
