Visvim Fall/Winter 2015 Is for the Modern Day Globetrotter

Hiroki Nakamura's globetrotting informed every piece in this collection.

We were able to see a peek of visvim's Fall/Winter 2015 collection within the pages of Japanese magazine SENSE earlier this month. Now, Hiroki Nakamura has unveiled the official collection lookbook—with this season's drop a "Dissertation on revealing the practice."

As noted on the brand's website, Nakamura designed this collection after a period of heavy traveling. As he describes, the inspiration for the apparel began with a trip to the UK, shifting to a road trip on the west coast of the United States. A design meeting in Los Angeles, turned into another meeting in Paris; followed by a trip to Seattle; and then Florence, Italy. Strangely, Florida was the final stop on this world tour, with Nakamura heading to the Sunshine State "in search of further inspiration."

The collection is directly influenced by the photos Nakamura took while on his many travels, "span[ning] the entire globe four and a half times in a simple matter of months."

The collection seems to reflect the inspirations that Nakamura found in his travels, with heavy knits, bomber jackets, and shearling coats seemingly pulled from the damp surroundings of the UK and Seattle in equal measure. Easy T-shirts and tailored jackets would find homes on Parisian streets and Italian tailoring shops respectfully.

Catch a sample of the collection below, and head over to visvim to see more of Nakamura's notes.
