You're probably familiar with Final Fantasy; as one of the longest-running video game series coming out of Japan, it's effectively defined the role playing game (RPG for short) genre. But while the franchise's characters are icons of the gaming world, they're definitely not the first thing that jumps to mind when you're thinking about Parisian women's fashion...at least, until now. Direct from creative director Nicolas Ghesquière, Louis Vuitton tapped Final Fantasy XIII's leading lady, Lightning, as the face of "Series 4" of its Spring/Summer 2016 campaign.

Created in partnership with notable Square Enix artist and designer Tetsuya Nomura, Lightning models a few looks direct from the runway. Considering that the Spring/Summer collection—which hit the catwalk back in October—was directly influenced by anime, sci-fi, and computer culture, it's fitting that Ghesquière would opt to showcase his designs in the digital world as well.

We understand if you think that pairing is a little bizarre, but when you look at the real-life model—Fernanda Ly—who opened the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2016 runway show, her bubblegum pink hair is video game-ready and a close match to Lightning's own rose-colored 'do. And, believe it or not, it's not Final Fantasy's first foray into fashion; back in 2012, Arena Homme Magazine dedicated a spread to characters from the game decked out in Prada.

Check the campaign's video below, and head over to Instagram to see more images from the collection.
