After four decades of racy shots featuring top models, Pirelli announced earlier this year that it would be changing up its coveted calendar. For its 43rd edition, the tire brand decided to capture 13 influential women like Serena Williams, Yoko Ono, Patti Smith, and Amy Schumer. Now, we have a preview of the powerful images.
Even though the exotic nudes Pirelli was known for were replaced with natural black-and-white portraits taken by Annie Leibovitz, some of the women still opted to strip down for the camera. For December, Schumer is captured holding a cup of coffee in little more than a pair of heels. Leibovitz toldElle that she had suggested the comedian pose nude ironically.
Serena Williams also showed off her amazing physique in a topless shot for April.
This time around the exclusive calendar, which debuted in London over the weekend, also features a paragraph about each woman's work. Check out the images below.
