If you are trying to smuggle a 6-carat diamond, you should definitely not swallow it. A woman in Bangkok, Thailand learned the hard way when she had to have a procedure to remove a stolen $278,000 stone that got stuck in her large intestine.

According to AP, the thief and her male accomplice made it to the airport before being apprehended by police. Although they denied involvement at first, an x-ray clearly revealed the huge rock. After a heavy dose of laxatives wasn't enough to loosen the diamond, a doctor had to remove it.

If convicted of the crime, the thieves could face three years in prison.
