From ballin' to splashing, Jim Jones has been a trendsetter in hip-hop. So for Capo's birthday, we decided to give him his long overdue credit. It's not everyday you see a dude walking around in all red paisley, but white V-necks have become an urban fashion staple—and in Jimmy's own words (watch his 2008 Complex video here), he's responsible for both. Even though photos of Cam'ron's pink fur moments take over the internet, the pepto color trend was started by Jimmy. We have other "Capo'd" trends we definitely acknowledge him for, so check out The 6 Trends That Jim Jones Started.

bandana clothing

TREND: Bandanna/Paisley Print Clothing

WHERE: Jim Jones and Cam'ron at "DipSet Anthem/I Really Mean It" Video Shoot
WHEN: 2003

Although Cam was the frontrunner, Jimmy definitely laid claim to most of the styles. Including the bandanna-clad garment which Mr. Jones wore to rep his set.

vnecks

TREND: White V-Necks

WHERE: Jim Jones at the Latino Music Festival /// Young Jeezy at Summer Jam
WHEN: July 2009 /// June 2007

Yes, Jimmy even claims the white V-neck phenomenon. This one is hard to prove, but we're not going to say he didn't make it more popular.

rockstar

TREND: "Rockstar" Style

WHERE: Jim Jones at the BET Hip Hop Awards Black Carpet Show /// Lil Wayne at photoshoot
WHEN: Summer 2006 /// 2007

We're not calling Weezy a swagger jacker, but we all know that Jim and the 'set started that rockstar style which even inspired Jim's own clothing brand, Nostic.

skulls

TREND: Skull & Bones

WHERE: Jim Jones at MTV's Spankin' Free Show /// Jay-Z at the BET Awards
WHEN: September 2006 /// June 2006

We know—he's not a biter he's a writer—but Jay-Z can at least give credit where it's due. The Capo owned skulls for a good 3 years. Jones!

scarves

TREND: Scarf Swag

WHERE: Jim Jones at VH1 Hip Hop Honors /// Soulja Boy at KISSFM Concert
WHEN:October 2008 /// 2009

Jim admits he didn't start the luxury scarf trend, but he takes credit for getting people to wear Louis scarves around the head, "Arab style." Scarf swag.
