After looking into some of the #cosy garments to keep us looking fresh during the COVID-19 pandemic, we decided we'd look into what sneakers could fit in nicely, too.

The question mark around buying new sneakers in such a strange time is a big one — but sneakerheads will be sneakerheads, so why not flex during social distanced exercise, or just catching a vibe in the back garden? It's about feeling good as much is it about looking good.

Scroll through below for our selections.

Air Jordan 1 Retro Chicago (1994)

The Air Jordan 1 in the Chicago colourway was reissued for the first time in 1994, presenting white and Varsity Red colour obstructive on the upper's premium leather structure. Within this release of the MJ classic, the branding and collar give a minimalist tone — adding a fresh style which would slot in perfectly with a simplistic 'fit. The white midsole encapsulating Air and varsity Red on the outsole completes this kick with an essence that is born from '90s flair.

Nike Air Max 1 OG Anniversary Red (2018 Restock)

Following up from the release of the popular '80s University Red colourway, the Air Max 1 OG Anniversary 'Red' is a fresh re-release. Working with a classic design, the white mesh and grey leather upper, accentuated by the thick, red suede overlay, rounds off the edges and a matching tick. With the standard Nike Air icon being present on the ankle and white tongue in a standout red, it gives an overall uniform look.

Adidas Ultra Boost 1.0 'Key City Pack' White (2015)

Working as a coveted model renowned for its clean design and cushioned support, the 2015 adidas Ultra Boost 1.0 in 'Key City Pack' White gained notoriety for its association with future adidas collaborator Kanye West. With the black outsole, Solar Yellow torsion spring and silver lettering on the heel adding a touch of colour, the clean whiteness of this shoe shines bright. Kanye made headlines when he unveiled this all-white design before its release and, as to be expected, drove all sneakerheads into a preorder frenzy.

'The Ten', Virgil Abloh's Off-White collaboration with Nike from 2017, birthed a handful of fan favourites, one of them being the Air Presto. The collection explored the themes of 'Revealing' and 'Ghosting', with the Air Prestos part of the 'Ghosting' category. This comfy crep, in a black and white colourway, is still a must-have.

Nike x Sean Wotherspoon Air Max 97/1

Inspired by Sean Wotherspoon's admiration for vinatage Nike hats from the '80s, Nike and the US-based designer put together an eagle-eyed silhouette instantly recognisable to sneakerheads, with the upper of the Air Max 97 and the sole of the Air Max 1. The colourway is as unique as they come, fitting nicely with the suede touch and frayed edges.
