Spanto Celebrated With Born x Raised and Mister Cartoon’s ‘Spanto Lives’ Capsule Collection

Spanto passed away following a car accident in late June, leaving behind his wife and three kids.

Born x Raised and Mister Cartoon are dropping a collaborative shirt in honor of Chris “Spanto” Printup.

Born x Raised shared the news on Thursday. Alongside a graphic from Mister Cartoon, the brand wrote, “There is no one better suited to help us celebrate the life and legacy of Spantana than our longtime friend and collaborator, @misterctoons. When I called Toons to tell him what had happened, he instantly had the idea to do this graphic, and it’s fucking beautiful.”

Profits from sales will go to Spanto’s family. “Let’s make sure they are taken care of. #SpantoLives,” the caption added.

News of Spanto's passing arrived on June 27. A day later, Born x Raised shared that he died after being in a car accident. The 42-year-old left behind his wife Anna and his three kids, Marilyn, Carter, and David.

Spanto and his Born x Raised co-founder Alex “2Tone” Erdmann launched their brand a decade ago to commemorate their Venice, California home. Since then, they landed high-profile collaborations with New Era, Converse, Babylon, and numerous L.A. franchises like the Lakers, Dodgers, Kings, Rams, and LAFC.

The “Spanto Lives” capsule will be available for purchase on Friday at 12 p.m. PT on bornxraised.com.
