Off-White's Latest Women's Collection Draws Inspiration From 1998 Film 'Belly'

Virgil Abloh showed the collection Thursday during Paris Fashion Week.

Virgil Abloh looked to one of hip-hop's most beloved films for Off-White's latest women's collection.

The multi-hyphenate presented the fall/winter 2020-2021 show Thursday during Paris Fashion Week, where he showcased a broad range of pieces inspired Hype Williams' 1998 crime drama Belly. Days before the show, Abloh confirmed the collection was "largely based" on a specific scene in which Sincere (Nas) suggests to Tionne (Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins) they go to Africa.

"The topic, Africa, the White Range, the red leather Ecko puffer, Dean & Deluca rip, everything," Abloh captioned an Instagram post with stills from the Belly scene.

You can check out video of the Off-White runway show above, and shots of the collection below. Some fans noted Abloh's post was liked by Jahleel Weaver, the deputy creative director for Rihanna's Fenty brand.
