1.2 million Golden Orb Weaver spiders collected in the highlands of Madagascar aided in this hand-embroidered textile made purely out of spider silk. It was shown at V&A Museum in London from January until June of this year. Spider silk is thought to be the finest type of silk, which is very difficult to produce, making it one of the most ambitious silk projects to date. [Yatzer]
