We would never tell you to model your lives after the lives of celebrities, because celebrities do a lot of ridiculous things—all sorts of wild antics, head-scratching projects, and embarrassing ventures. But, if you sift through all the noise, there are some things some famous people get right. Like the six guys we've gathered here, who have shown a very capable flair for dressing pretty damn well. If you read Complex, you're likely caught up on Justin Bieber's evolving wardrobe, Zayn's style risks, and Jaden Smith's utter disregard for traditional men's fashion rules. Keep paying attention to what they're doing this summer, but also keep tabs on what three other style-icons-in-the-making are wearing and how they're wearing it: Metro Boomin, Michael B. Jordan, and Brooklyn Beckham, each of whom have developed a signature style worth looking into. If you're going to replicate anything stars do, this is how—and when—to do it.
Zayn Malik
Zayn Malik post-One Direction really is a new man. The singer and recent Complex cover star, who made his solo debut with Mind of Mine this past March, first landed on our radar as one of the well-dressed guys to watch in the industry last year. These days, he doesn’t have his blonde buzz cut anymore, but he’s still decked out in designer gear—Alexander Wang, Louis Vuitton, Alexander McQueen, Balmain, Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino, and more. Occasionally, he throws on a Stampd bomber or Nike Tech sweats or hoodie, too. Zayn’s boy band days are clearly over. -Karizza Sanchez
Brooklyn Beckham
Brooklyn Beckham checks off every box. He has a new actress girlfriend, an uber-famous and even more stylish dad, a fashion designer mom, and all the money in the world to spend on clothes. While we wouldn't expect anything less from David and Victoria Beckham's own kin, Brooklyn has clearly learned a few tricks from his parents and is maturing into someone to watch in his own right. The 17-year-old already has a Burberry campaign under his belt and has shown that he can pull off a camo jacket about as well as his pops. But it's not all classic style swiped directly from dear ol' dad. He's smartly hopped onto the Gucci bandwagon—as pictured above—and mixes high fashion labels like Louis Vuitton and Saint Laurent with streetwear brands adidas, Zanerobe, and Thrasher just like a seasoned pro. -Cameron Wolf
Metro Boomin
The question of the year may be whether or not Young Metro trusts you, but if you want to earn a little style credibility of your own, you could do worse that put your faith in the young producer’s hands. It’s become increasingly difficult for Metro to maintain a low profile, as many producers do, thanks to his eye-catching style. In addition to his signature rose-tinted glasses topped off with a headband or bandana tied around his head, Young Metro has no shortage of Supreme—box logos to bombers to goggles—along with a regular rotation of Yeezys, Jordans, and Vans. He’s been seen wearing everything from Off-White to BAPE, Stone Island to smaller brands like London-based PLACES + FACES at performances and parties in the last couple months. Between that impressive line-up in his closet, his own “Does Young Metro Trust You?” merch, and the inevitable bangers he has in the works, please believe Metro Boomin is someone you should be checking for regularly all summer long. -Rae Witte
Justin Bieber
Over the past several years, Justin Bieber burrowed into his cocoon and emerged a butterfly covered in designer clothing from labels like Saint Laurent, Fear of God, Off-White, and Yeezy. The pop star has been one to watch for some time now and further solidified his status amongst the style icons on his new tour: The singer worked with Fear of God's Jerry Lorenzo to create the streetwear- and metal-inspired looks for his 'Purpose' concert dates, and the designer even had a hand in the legitimately stylish merch. Our only remaining gripe is that ever-evolving hair. For now, we're cool with his buzz cut. For the record, we’d also definitely take his old side-swept locks over these dreads any day. -Cameron Wolf
Michael B. Jordan
Michael B. Jordan is (still) having a moment. The 29-year-old actor starred in the Rocky sequel Creed, which racked up many awards nominations after its release, including Jordan’s Best Male Performance nod at the 2016 MTV Movie Awards. He’s one of the best young actors in Hollywood right now—and he’s certainly dressing like it. Red carpets are easy for Jordan, who almost always shows up in an A1 suit. Off the carpet, he’s more casual, but still on-point—wheat Timbs, Yeezys, varsity jackets, jeans, tees, and printed shirts. Jordan hasn’t outlined everything that's next for him yet (fingers crossed it’s a Creed follow-up), but one thing’s for sure: He isn’t just little Wallace anymore. -Karizza Sanchez
Jaden Smith
Not so long ago, Jaden accessorized his acid wash overalls with a surgical mask while he took an imaginary call on a box of water. Yes, you read that correctly. He was also seen at Coachella wearing his girlfriend’s mugshot on a T-shirt while holding her hand IRL. Sure, he occasionally wears recognizable brands like Supreme with his Yeezys, but Jaden’s contribution to style in 2016 is his steadfast commitment to having the most personal style. He continues to disregard gender norms, too; following his star turn in the women’s Louis Vuitton spring/summer 2016 campaign, Smith wore a women’s leather jacket from the spring 2016 collection to the brand’s Fall 2016 show during Paris Fashion Week. And when he isn’t defying traditional expectations in other designers’ clothes, he is reppin’ pieces from his collective, MSFTrep, which he’s described as a mixture of “Basquiat’s and Einstein’s personal notebooks.” If you’re looking for a refreshing lesson in doing your own thing, we can’t think of a better icon-in-the-making to inspire you. -Rae Witte
