Super Bowl LIV is finally here, which is both a good and a bad thing. The good is pretty obvious. This should be one hell of a football game, with the best offense in the NFL going up against the best defense in the league. Patrick Mahomes is one of, if not the most, exciting players in the NFL and getting to see him play football is always a blessing. The bad thing is that this is the last football game for eight months, which means no more picks and predictions for eight months. Truly, really sad.
This has been an incredible season of NFL football and we appreciate y'all rocking with us from the beginning right up to the end. We'll obviously have a ton of coverage through the offseason as well, so this really isn't a farewell, just a minor break in the action. With all of that said, here are our Super Bowl LIV picks for the winner of the big game, but also who we all think is going to take home the MVP award at the end of the night.
Kansas City Chiefs vs. San Francisco 49ers
Chopz: I feel like everyone is overthinking this a bit. I know defense wins championships, but Patrick Mahomes is different. I think he comes out and puts on a show in this one, which will probably be close. I would advise taking the Chiefs and the over, folks.
Adam: Since everyone and their mother is taking Kansas City, I’m going contrarian and taking the 49ers. Does San Francisco have the kind of defense that can slow down the Chiefs, create havoc for Patrick Mahomes, and possibly steal this one if the all-world QB has an average day? Yeah, they do. Also, pound the under at 54.5. EVERYONE’S taking the over. You know that means...GO. THE. OTHER. WAY.
Zion: I’m scared to pick the Chiefs because defense wins championships but Pat Mahomes is unstoppable. Chiefs win in a close one. Chiefs 27 49ers 20.
Angel: Chiefs.
Super Bowl LIV MVP
Chopz: I gotta pick Mahomes for MVP. I will say though, if the 49ers do win this game, Nick Bosa would be my pick for MVP because if they win, I think he would have had to go off in the game. But if the Chiefs win, like I predicted, I don't think there's any chance anyone but Mahomes gets the MVP.
Adam: Raheem Mostert. He’s +550 right now. Pretty respectable value for someone who will carry the ball a lot.
Zion: Mahomes.
