If you’ve got a late-model Camaro, it’s time to start scheduling an appointment at your local dealer. The latest in the seemingly unending GM recall saga sees Chevy’s pony car being recalled over fears that the key FOB could inadvertently turn the key from the “on” to “off” positions in operation, if bumped by the driver’s knee.
The current design has been the cause of at least three crashes that resulted in minor injuries, prompting GM to change the format of the key. It seems like a strange recall, but GM is certainly taking no chances anymore. The General is recalling all 511,528 current-generation Camaros sold in the US, Canada, Mexico and in export markets.
Better delay that summer road trip.
