Video: Ford Working on SYNCing Your Car and Doctor

The machines may be taking over, but at least they care.

If you thought your Ford SYNC's ability to "Play Artist, Waka Flocka Flame" was impressive, wait until you hear what it could be doing next. The automaker has announced that a next-generation package of in-car diagnostics may not target your ride, but you. In conjunction with healthcare professionals, Ford is working to develop SYNC monitoring systems that could help drivers stay on top of everything from diabetes to allergies.

Using tailored apps, cloud services, and Bluetooth capabilities, the new system will stream driver allergy alerts and help with conditions with tools like glucose monitoring. Further down the road, plans include heart rate and stress monitoring technologies. We're not sure but this almost sounds like a HIPAA violation.
