A Sacramento Kings fan who got kicked out of a recent game has revealed the reason he got into a screaming altercation with Zach LaVine.

Devlin Carter, who is a season ticket holder for the Kings, released a lengthy video explaining his side of the situation that unfolded on Wednesday (November 26), which saw him screaming at LaVine before being led out of the arena by security.

According to Carter, he told LaVine, "Yo, we do not pay to watch you not play defense," prompting the Kings player to allegedly respond with, "Go home, n***a."

“So I start letting him have it, like, 'No, I pay to be here. You go home, you are getting paid over 40 million per year, and you got eight points in the fourth quarter. You did not show up,'" added Carter about the altercation.

Carter apologized to the team and expressed his love for not just the players, but the people who work at the arena as well. Whether he’ll forgive LaVine for how he played remains to be seen.

"All the fans want is effort. I’m just a fan that want to see y’all actually try," he said. "We don’t want y’all to be mad at us for telling y’all y’all not playing defense… You want to be held accountable…You should know you playing like trash."

LaVine finished the game with 13 points on 35.7 percent shooting, two rebounds, two assists, and a game-high six turnovers in 31 minutes of playing time.

LaVine wasn’t the only person on the Kings who appeared to struggle with defense — everyone else did, too. The team has a defense rating of 119.7, which is 24th in the league.

After the game, LaVine, seemingly hinting at what the altercation was about, defended the team’s efforts. "You guys can say all you want to about effort," he said. "We play as hard as we can…Guys are frustrated we’re not winning, guys are frustrated they’re not playing right, or playing in the way that would best suit them. … We’re all trying our hearts out, though."
