Los Angeles Clippers Announcers Get Into Argument on Air Mid-Game

The argument was over a trivia question.

NBA fans, specifically Los Angeles Clippers haters, were in for a treat during the team’s game against the Dallas Mavericks when the commentators got into an argument instead of chatting about what was happening on the court.

In footage from the broadcast of the Clippers and Mavericks game on Saturday (Nov. 29), announcers Brian Sieman and Jim Jackson started going back and forth about a trivia question.

"So, I go back to that trivia question you sprung on me, ambushed is a better word, the trios of the NBA,” began Sieman, prompting Jackson to interject.

"I didn't ambush. What was an ambush?” Jackson said.

Sieman came back immediately with, “So the whole premise of the question was way off,” and Jackson fired back with “No, it was not.”

While the Clippers and Mavericks continued to duke it out at the Intuit Dome (with the Mavericks ultimately going on to win 114-110), the announcing duo spent nearly three minutes bickering about the phrasing of the trivia question and how it could have been answered.

It ended with the two commentators laughing.

The Clippers have had a rocky start to the NBA season. The team has a 5-15 record, placing them at No. 14 in the Western Conference of the NBA.

After the Clippers’ loss to the Mavericks, star Kawhi Leonard spoke about the team’s focus on turning around the season.

“We gotta worry about winning the game right now first before we think about any type of championship,” he said. “We all gotta come in collectively. It’s the same blueprint for every game. I sound like a broken record, but it’s getting back in transition. And then from there, knowing what we’re doing on the defensive end, getting a stop, getting a rebound, and coming back with pace and execute on the offensive end.”
