Kim and Khloé Kardashian traveled all the way to Monte Carlo to cheer on Kim’s partner, Formula 1 star Lewis Hamilton.
The sisters turned up at Circuit de Monaco on Saturday (June 6) during qualifying runs for the Monaco Grand Prix, marking Kim's first appearance in the Formula 1 paddock since the couple went public.
The sisters, along with close family friend Simon Huck, had sailed into Monaco by boat on Friday ahead of the session, according to People. On Saturday, Kim boarded a yacht before making her way into the paddock, where she and Khloe moved through Ferrari's team area together in coordinated outfits. Kim slipped on a red Ferrari headset during qualifying, and the pair watched from a premium viewing area within Hamilton's team orbit.
Hamilton gave the crowd plenty to watch, qualifying third behind Kimi Antonelli in pole and Max Verstappen in second. The result came despite Hamilton topping Friday's second practice session and edging Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc by 0.111 seconds in the day's earlier running.
After qualifying, Hamilton addressed the gap between practice and the session.
"Tough for us. I think we were looking so strong in practice and we barely changed anything but the car was drastically different once we got to qualifying for some reason, so we have to take a deep dive into that," he said. The veteran followed that with a more reflective note: "I gave it absolutely everything and was as close to the barriers as I could be. What a privilege it is to be here and be one of the 22 drivers in Formula 1, getting to do this still. I love every second of it."
Hamilton currently sits fourth in the F1 drivers' standings with 72 points. He recorded his best Ferrari result the previous round in Canada, finishing runner-up to Mercedes' Antonelli.
Kim and Hamilton first sparked dating rumors at a New Year's Eve party in Aspen before being spotted publicly together at the Super Bowl in Santa Clara in February. The relationship became Instagram official on April 6 when Hamilton shared a video of himself driving a red Ferrari F40 with Kardashian riding in the passenger seat. According to People’s source for Kardashian, she "never wanted to rush anything" and is "very happy with where things are," adding that Hamilton is "a great guy."
The Monaco Grand Prix race is scheduled for Sunday (June 7),
