More alleged audio has been made public amid ongoing coverage of a lawsuit accusing Shannon Sharpe of sexual assault. Sharpe, notably, has denied the allegations, as well as zeroed in on the involvement of attorney Tony Buzbee, at one point saying he “targets Black men,” referencing Jay-Z’s defamation claim against the lawyer to underscore his argument.
The latest audio, per a report from TMZ, was shared on Wednesday by Buzbee, who is quoted by the publication as saying the clip stands as “a fair picture of the relationship” between Sharpe and the accuser. Not revealed in the report is the timeline of this particular recording, nor was it immediately clear whether this was from the same conversation as prior alleged audio released earlier this week.
“You’re coming to LA tomorrow?” a woman’s voice is heard asking in the clip, to which a male voice, alleged to be Sharpe, responds “Yes.” From there, the woman is heard questioning why the man would “wanna go out,” with him responding, “Don’t worry about it, Gabi.” Seconds later, the woman says, “Well, I’m not really interested in getting choked so I guess we’re going.”
At this point, what sounds like a laugh is heard, followed by the voice alleged to be Sharpe’s saying, “I may choke you in public. Big Black guy chokes small white woman.” The woman then responds, saying, “That’s not a good look, Shannon.” The male voice retorts with “It’s not a good look that you did the shit you did to me.”
Complex has reached out to legal reps for Sharpe for comment on the latest developments. This story may be updated.
Previously, Sharpe’s lawyers shared several alleged text messages from the Club Shay Shay host’s accuser, including one in which she says she wants him “to put a dog collar around my neck and choke me with it while ur fucking me.” Sharpe elaborated further in a video statement shared to social media on Tuesday, arguing that this lawsuit is an attempted “shakedown,” adding that he was planning to sue for defamation.
“What they’re getting is sued for defamation and trying to take me down,” Sharpe, who also said that he believes Buzbee will be releasing a 30-second excerpt of a sex tape, said in the video. “My career is all about real talk and honesty. I know my family and fans know exactly what this is about and I’m going to be out there telling you whatever I need to say just like I always do.”
