Intro

The Dallas Cowboys have transformed losing into an art form the past few years. Whether it's fumbling a hold for the kick, throwing an inopportune interception, or allowing huge runs in overtime, they just don't seem to want to take control of their division. This time, Tony Romo wasn't the center of criticism. His coach Jason Garrett yanked that torch from him when he called a timeout as his rookie kicker drilled the game-winning 49-yarder through the uprights. Whoops! The play didn't count, Dan Bailey missed the second attempt, and the Cowboys lost in overtime. As you can imagine, Twitter went off on the idiotic mistake. Even LeBron James got in on the criticism! Check out the 15 tweets that we found worth highlighting.

LeBron

@KingJames

You know it's bad when your 4th quarter performance is being questioned by LeBron James. #shots

Meneses

@6408Meneses

If this is true, then the natural next question is about who Garrett's love interest is, right?

TV McGee

@TVMcGee

He'd most likely save the feet for his brother, though.

Sledge

@TommySledge

Either that or he's in some serious trouble with the mob.

Skip Bayless

@RealSkipBayless

If it were up to Skip, the Cowboys would have traded for Tim Tebow during the timeout, used him as the holder, and run a fake kick.

Pwn Team

@PwnTeam

He also had LaRod Stephens-Howling as his flex.

Joe Schmitt

@JoeSchmitt

The only instance where it's appropriate to ice your own kicker? Ninth down, nine to go, from the nine-yard line.

Fake ESPN

@TheFakeESPN

After Jerry Jones fires him, he probably won't even be able to afford Dr. Pepper.

Derrick Ward

@DerrickWard32

Derrick, you play in Houston and your team has won six games in a row. What authority do you have on getting iced?

DeMario Davis

@TheDeMarioDavis

More incentive to hate Jason Garrett. He should know his players better!

Daslimer

@SamDalsimer

Jason Garrett will need to be the one taking a knee if he wants to keep his job.

Braves

@ajcbraves

Smoothly burning two people in one tweet is always an accomplishment.

bojangles

@TheOnlyJosh

We have a feeling this guy was doing a lot more than shaking his head. We're guessing a few plates, a remote, and maybe a cat were heaved at the wall.

Barnwell

@BillBarnwell

Bill makes an excellent point. The Cowboys could have tried for at least two more plays to bring them closer than a 49-yard field goal, which is by no means a chip shot.

Angry Black Man

@AngryBlkManDC

There's an island for misfit toys. Maybe it's time to make an island for idiotic professional coaches and players.
