For the average pedestrian, discussing how much money they make, what they spend their money on, and how much personal items cost is a bit of a taboo. People tend to make this a private matter. In the rap world, it's the exact opposite, especially in today's Instagram-, Facebook-, and Twitter-driven world. Social media has given rappers the opportunity to show off and prove that they are actually driving the expensive cars that they are rapping about.
Sometimes, the photos can be deceiving, due to people trying to puff up their chest at any chance they get, but you can usually tell who's trying to stunt and who is actually showing their worth. These photos have given us a sense of the tastes of the rap culture. Basically, it boils down to some American muscle, a few high-end SUVs, and a hell of a lot of supercars. Check out the cars you artists are putting their money toward with The 15 Most Popular Cars for Rappers To Own Right Now.

15. Ferrari California
2013 Base Model Msrp: $198,190
Along with a bevy of other celebrities, Chief Keef and Tyga have been seen driving around in the Cali. One of a large collection, Tyga's car was customized in matte red and Asanti wheels at West Coast Customs. This and the Phantom Drophead seem to be the most popular open-air rapper rides.
14. Porsche Panamera
2013 Base Model Msrp: $75,850
The Panamera is one of the most purchased celebrity cars period. If you scroll through The Game's recent photos, you'd think he's bought three of them in the past year, but he actually just changes the exterior paint and rims about once every two months.
13. Cadillac Escalade
2013 Base Model Msrp: $63,170
We might have been young when it came out, but "What's Your Fantasy?" by Ludacris made the Escalade a car worth aspiring to. Who wouldn't want to make love to a woman on top of a car? The SUV has remained a heavily used mode of transportation, particularly when the rapper is rolling with a big crew.
12. Chevrolet Camaro SS
2013 Base Model Msrp: $32,635
Older Camaros aren't nearly as popular as old-school Impalas in the hop-hop world, but the newest generation of the American muscle cars has popped up in The Game and Plies garages, was seen in some of Wiz Khalifa and Curren$y's music videos, and is a frequent focus in lyrics.
11. Dodge Challenger SRT8
2013 Base Model Msrp: $43,995
The Challenger is forever ingrained in rap history, thanks to one man: Wiz Khalifa. His "Black and Yellow" video cemented it as a "tough" ride, and we've seen it pop up in T.I. and The Game's garages, as well. The massive body and ease of customization makes it a perfect way to display those giant egos.
10. Mercedes-Benz S-Class
2013 Base Model Msrp: $92,350
Most rappers can't really afford to be chauffeured around in a Maybach, so the S-Class is an extremely comfortable landing spot for the rest of 'em. You see a lot more rappers in these than you do in Beamers.
9. Rolls-Royce Phantom
2013 Base Model Msrp: $398,970
Yes, the opera and phantom connection has definitely been used in a rap. Thank Gucci Mane in "Gucci Two Times" for the obvious refence, with the line "all-black Phantom, pull up to the opera." The drophead version of the car, currently the only convertible Rolls-Royce, has ended up in the driveways of people like Rick Ross, Tyga, and T-Pain.
8. Maybach 62
2012 Base Model Msrp: $427,700
We're pretty sure that the only people who have purchased Maybachs in the past two years have been rappers. Jay-Z has one, Rick Ross has a pair, and DJ Khaled uses his as his mobile office. And don't forget that the vehicle that went into the chop shop in the "Otis" video was a Maybach. Now that they're out of business, the insane interior of the next-generation Mercedes-Benz will surely welcome in any and all customers.
7. Bentley Mulsanne
2013 Base Model Msrp: $296,00
The first reference we heard to a Mulsanne was by T.I. back on his track with B.o.B. on the Adventures of Bobby Ray. Since then, there has been an explosion of purchases of the estate Bentley, including its most recent fan, Young Jeezy.
6. Lamborghini Aventador
2013 Base Model Msrp: $397,500
Kim Kardashian blew up the Internet this past year, when she reportedly spent more than $700,000 on a Platinum Motorsport-customized Aventador for her then-new partner Kanye West. The matte black wrap gave the car an extremely aggressive look for one of the most powerful couples in the industry. Since then, we've seen Tyga and Chris Brown also pick up the supercar, which is valued at almost $400,000. Unfortunately, Tyga lost control of his in a crash and had it impounded by the police for driving without registration.
5. Bugatti Veyron
2013 Base Model Msrp: $1,300,000
Ace Hood's "Bugatti" is one of the biggest songs in the country right now, but we still stand by the fact that he couldn't actually afford one. Some people that could, however, include T-Pain, The Game, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Birdman and Flo Rida. What do those guys have that Ace Hood doesn't? Multiple hits.
4. Bentley Continental
2013 Base Model Msrp: $175,700
Drake's "Started From the Bottom" video is where we most recently saw one of these, but the Continental has been seen in many hip-hop garages. The Game, Rick Ross, Fabolous, and Soulja Boy have all purchased the luxury brand's signature car. None of them have been more ostentatious than Nicki Minaj's bright pink model.
3. Rolls-Royce Ghost
2013 Base Model Msrp: $256,650
Rappers love using the Ghost in cute wordplay. The first one that comes to mind is Wale on Meek Mill's "House Party" remix with the line, "promise if I killer her pussy, I'll send you home in a ghost." Vado took it back to some old-school cinema with the line, "Patrick Swayze Rolls Royce on some ghost shit." Driving in a Ghost makes rappers anything but invisible.
2. Lamborghini Murcielago
2010 Base Model Msrp: $354,000
This is probably one of the most popular supercars among rappers of all time. Aside from it being the focal point of Jeezy's old anthem, it had a rebirth this past year with the launch of G.O.O.D.'s "Mercy." These things were hot, when they were still being produced, as evidenced by Lil John and Jermaine Dupri, but you still see today's rappers, like 50 Cent and Rick Ross, riding in these.
1. Range Rover
2013 Base Model Msrp: $60,595
Most of the time, when you hear "double-R," the artist is talking about Rolls-Royce, but the Range Rover has been a staple in hip-hop culture for far longer. The SUV is a perfectly mix of rugged, sport and luxury that can hold a group of your homies or, if you're Jay-Z and Beyonce, a new family. Few vehicles will ever leave a mark on the game bigger than Cam'Ron's pink Range.
