15 Cars To Look for in "Need for Speed"

Tomorrow, March 14, is the day that Aaron Paul makes the switch from Jesse Pinkman of Breaking Bad to Tobey Marshall, a street racer who has been wronged and is out for some sweet revenge. That's right, Need for Speed, the movie based on the long-loved video game series finally hits theaters, ready to fill a void that has been left by the postponed Fast and Furious series. If you've watched any of the trailers, it looks like everything you'd expect: brilliant supercars, historic classics, explosions and flips, a slow motion. But the cool part is that there is no CGI. All of the stunts in this movie are real.

Unfortunately, that's not exactly the case with all the cars. Click forward to see just which cars are the real deal, which ones will take the lead with Paul, and which make special cameos. Here are 15 Cars To Look for in "Need for Speed" This Weekend.

This "900hp" 'Stang is the car in the spotlight in this movie. Paul's character Tobey Marshall uses this as his main machine, putting it through the paces by getting it airborn, drifting it to its limits, and hanging miles above the Grand Canyon by a single chain tied to a helicopter.

At one point, this was the fastest production car in the world at 267.8 mph. However, Guinness took away that title when it found out Bugatti had taken off the limiter that is on all of the production models. So, technically, it still was, but technically it wasn't. Also, the actual model in the movie technically isn't a Bugatti, it's just a replica, along with most of the other supercars, which were built right here in the U.S of A.

The Saleen S7 is one of the most insane and intense supercars ever built. It only was in production from '05-'09 and its the only car that has come out of the Saleen camp that was completely original. All the others were tuned versions of other vehicles. Word has it that Saleen is currently working on a new supercar. *Excellent* (Mr. Burns voice).

This is the ride Tobey is picked up in when he first gets out of prison, captained by our man Kid Cudi. The '66 F-100 was at the tail end of the fourth generation of Ford pickups. It was also the first generation that had a much more boxy styling, rather than the bubbly, curvaceous look.

Unfortunately, judging by the previews, it looks like this car might only make a very limited appearance in the movie. It's a damn shame, as the late-'60s Camaros are some of the sexiest cars ever created. And the 396 Chevy engines in those are something people still talk about to this day.

Back in the late '60s, the the 2800 CS was part of a "New Class" for BMW, showing off a new face, with full intention to create an attractive vehicle with a hint of sportiness for the mainstream. It was created as a direct competitor to the Mercedes-Benz 280s of the day.

This is Aaron Paul's favorite car from the entire movie. It helps that it wasn't fabricated like the other supercars, but we definitely respect him for picking one of the classics over the other hype. The Torino was part of the greatest time in automobile history and had the looks and power to prove it.

Yes, that's a Porsche on the right side of that photo, a 944 S to be exact. The "Super" was the first 944 that had four vales in each cylinder head and used a dual overhead cam.

Yeah, Ford had that hookup, with Tobey driving a modded-out GT500 as his main car, eventually taking a ride in the new '15 GT, as well. We'll see how that new independent rear suspension works out.

This one was kind of random, so we're excited to see exactly what role it plays (it doesn't look big). Back in the day, racing legend Parnelli Jones ran the Mexican 1000 with this beast of an off-roader that was based on the Ford Bronco and built by Bill Stroppe. Naturally, it won and set a record in the process. Its nickname is "Big Oly" because of the Olympia sponsorship it had. The movie model doesn't look quite the same, but it has "Big Oly" striped across its face.

This Spanish supercar is one of the rarest of the bunch with only 99 units being produced (but remember, this isn't the real one). The actual car comes equipped with a supercharged V10 mated to 7 speeds and rear-wheel drive. It has 900 hp and weighs less than 3,000 lbs. Talk about a monster.

Lamborghini created production versions of this concept car once the demand was so insanely high, but official top speed specs were never released. How rude. Regardless, this is one of the most insanely fascinating supercars of all time. In person, its appearance is unlike anything you've ever set eyes on, compeltely cut up with carbon fiber that hides a 570hp V10 engine. At only 2,202 lbs, it's truly a modern marvel, full History Channel.

Along with the Camaros, Chargers, and Mustangs of the day, the GTO had its own unique style that made it very desirable. The pointed snout, the vertically stacked dual headlights, and the long body set it apart. RIP Pontiac, RIP.
