Mississippi State Beats UConn in Heart-Stopping Overtime Final Four Game

Mississippi State's women beat perpetual powerhouse UConn 66-64.

Friday night's NCAA Women's Semifinal pitted number one seed UConn against number 2 Mississippi State. UConn, a perpetual powerhouse, had the longest winning streak in NCAA Division I history and had won 111 games in a row, dating back to the fall of 2014.

But the game did not go down as planned.

UConn trailed throughout, at one point by as much at 14 points. But they clawed back towards the end of the game, forcing things into a tie at the end of regulation.

UConn tied the game at 64 with just 26 seconds left, after Mississippi State was called for a rather controversial flagrant foul.

And then the stage was set for the game-winning shot by Morgan William.

Mississippi State will face South Carolina in the Finals on April 2.
