Intro
We already showed you how gruesome MMA can be and told you that when it comes to brutal sports it's pretty much "unfuckwitable." *Cudi voice* But that doesn't mean boxing doesn't have it's share of cringe-worthy moments. From golf ball-sized hematomas to gashes that make you wonder who snuck a shank into the ring, the O.G. combat sport has produced decades of unsightly injuries.
With Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez completing their epic trilogy this Saturday, we figured it's the perfect time for you to peep the ugly post-fight mugs and "fix ya face" impact shots that made us think boxing is in violation of some human rights laws. Brace yourself, here are the 20 Most Disturbing Photos in Boxing history.
Manny Pacquiao

Date: 3/15/2008
Fight: Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez
Don't look at his face, Manny! Look at his fists! In their classic second meeting, both Pacquaio and Marquez pounded each other for 12 rounds before Pac-Man walked away with the split decision. Come Saturday, we expect more of the same in this boxing trilogy that ranks high among those in the modern era. Yeah, we'll promote Pacquiao-Marquez III and expect no financial return. Unless you feel like throwing dough are way...what up, Bob Arum?
Mitch "Blood" Green
19. Mitch "Blood" Green
Date: 8/23/1988
Fight: Mitch Green v. Mike Tyson (street fight)
Back in the mid to late '80s no one was seeing Iron Mike. Apparently Mitch "Blood" Green didn't get the memo. A couple years after his loss to Tyson in '86, Green got word that Kid Dynamite was shopping at Dapper Dans in Harlem and went to confront the champ for a rematch. While Tyson left with a broken hand which he injured while pummelling Green's face, Mitch left with a damage nose that required five stitches. Tyson later had to pay Green $45,000 in in a civil suit for the confrontation. Oh yeah, and Green didn't get that rematch... in the ring, that is.
Miguel Cotto

Fight: Manny Pacquiao vs. Miguel Cotto
In a lopsided bout for the WBO welterweight championship, Manny Pacquiao beat down Miguel Cotto until the fight was called 55 seconds into the 12th round. The savage beating caused Cotto's wife and son to leave the bout early. Note to all boxers: If you have young children and are going up against an absolute beast like Pacquaio, leave 'em at home, fam. #itain'tworthit
Arturo Gatti
17. Arturo Gatti
Date: 6/25/2005
Fight: Arturo Gatti vs. Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
The late-great Arturo Gatti was known for brawling and making his bouts entertaining for fans no matter the opponent. C'mon, when's the last time you saw Mayweather throw hands like he did here? Gatti was a legend who was lost too soon. R.I.P.
Pawel Wolak
16. Pawel Wolak
Date: 7/15/2011
Fight: Pawel Wolak vs. Delvin Rodriguez
Don't let this image fool you, Pawel Wolak is fully capable of defending himself. He's had a successful career thus far. Dude holds a record of 29-1-1, but people will ignore all that talk about his record when they see the damage his opponent, Delvin Rodriguez, did to his eye in a fight that ended in a draw. Sidebar: Is it us or does this dude bear a striking resemblance to the Warhead dude a.k.a one or the greatest candies of all time?
Jesus Soto Karass

Date: 2/19/2011
Fight: Jesus Soto Karass vs. Mike Jones
This fight writes itself. Hear us out. Since suffering an absolute beatdown in this loss by decision, Jesus Soto Karass has yet to return to the ring. Uh...ya think? The best part, his face was pummeled by a boxer named Mike Jones. Who?! Mike Jones!

14. Sebastian Lujan
Date: 2/18/2005
Fight: Sebastian Lujan vs. Antonio Margarito
In his 10-round TKO victory, Antonio Margarito knocked Sebastian Lujan's ear off. He probably had cement in his gloves, but still. That shit is gross. Ya heard?
Vitali Klitschko
13. Vitali Klitschko
Date: 6/21/2003
Fight: Vitali Klitschko vs. Lennox Lewis
We think ring doctors should bring out a mirror when talking to injured fighters. You see the damage on Vitali Klitscko's face, right? Apparently homie didn't feel it because he was pissed when the fight was stopped in the sixth round and he lost his WBC and IBO heavyweight titles. To watch Lewis clown Klitschko and see exactly how out of it Vitali was, check this clip from the hilarious post-fight interviews.
Jake LaMotta
12. Jake LaMotta and Sugar Ray Robinson
Date: 2/14/1951
Fight: Jake LaMotta vs. Sugar Ray Robinson VI
No color needed for this one, kids. The beastly elements come through in HD. Few boxing photos, or sports photos for that matter, document the passion and intensity like the ones taken during Jake LaMotta and Sugar Ray Robinson's St. Valentine's Day Massacre. With the World Middleweight title on the line, two of the greatest to enter the ring gave it their all for 13 rounds before Robinson won by technical knockout as The Raging Bull coudn't get off the ropes. If we had to sum up this snarling, blood-dripping, conk-sweating photo in one word it'd be savage.
Rocky Marciano and Joe Walcott
11. Rocky Marciano and Joe Walcott
Date: 9/23/1952
Fight: Rocky Marciano vs. Joe Walcott
You know how older folks say boxers back in the day got into these epic slugfests that left both fighters' faces battered and bruised beyond recognition. Now we believe them. In a classic battle for the heavyweight title, Marciano and Jersey Joe went at it for 13 rounds before Rocky knocked him out. See, back in the day, the top two fighters in the game used to, you know, have balls to fight each other! Hear that Money May?
Evander Holyfield
10. Evander Holyfield
Date: 6/28/1997
Fight: Evander Holyfield vs. Mike Tyson II
Ahh, the infamous Bite Fight a.k.a. the moment when everyone knew Iron Mike had completely lost it. In a rematch from their bout won by Holyfield seven months earlier, the two heavyweight legends squared off for the WBA heavyweight title. By the third round, The Real Deal was dominating the fight and frustrating Tyson with a few illegal headbutts and that's when Tyson snapped. The Baddest Man on the Planet lived up to the moniker by taking a few chomps out of Evander's ear. Year's later Tyson would continue his advocacy for cannibalism. Nom nom nom nom...
Erik Morales
9. Erik Morales
Date: 4/9/2011
Fight: Marcos Maidana vs. Erik Morales
In what definitely was a candidate for Fight of the Year, Marcos Maidana and Erik Morlaes battled each other in a seesaw match that concluded with Maidana winning by majority decision. In other news, Morales' right eye gave birth to a healthy extraterrestrial later that night.

8. Antonio Margarito
Date: 11/13/2010
Fight: Manny Pacquiao vs. Antonio Margarito
In a bout for the WBC super welterweight title, Manny Pacquiao gave Antonio Margarito the beating of his life. After the 12-round match (which should've been called a few rounds earlier) finally ended, Margarito was taken to the hospital where he was found to have a fractured right orbital bone. In other words, Pacman broke dude's face. Literally.
Jorge Linares
7. Jorge Linares
Date: 10/15/2011
Fight: Jorge Linares vs. Antonio DeMarco
In another one of this year's great fights that went under the radar, Jorge Linares and Antonio DeMarco took part in a bloodbath for the WBC Lightweight title. Linares was winning the fight by all accounts, until the eleventh... when DeMarco pulled out a shank! Actually, he rallied and beat Linares' face to a bloody pulp to win by TKO. Looks like he had a weapon though, right?
Fernando Vargas
6. Fernando Vargas
Date: 2/25/2006
Fight: Fernando Vargas vs. Shane Mosley
Getting hit in the head too many times can cause a person to get delusional. That's exactly what happened to Fernando Vargas in his bout with Shane Mosley after constant punches to the dome caused severe swelling and a tenth-round stoppage. Vargas argued that he could've continued and was able to protect himself but the photo proves otherwise.
Duk Koo Kim
5. Duk Koo Kim
Date: 11/13/1982
Fight: Duk Koo Kim vs. Ray Mancini
This is the fight that changed boxing forever. Korean contender Duk Koo Kim took a vicious beating at the hands of Ray Mancini. At one point he was hit 39 times in a row. The ref let the fight go on and after getting knocked out in the 14th round, Kim collapsed and fell into a coma. He died four days later. Referee Richard Green and Kim's mother both committed suicide in the following months. The aftermath of Kim vs. Mancini led to 12-round bouts being the maximum length for prize fights. #shitisreal
Roy Jones Jr.
4. Roy Jones, Jr.
Date: 11/8/2008
Fight: Roy Jones Jr. vs. Joe Calzaghe
Oh boy, another poster child for boxers who stay in the game too long. A 39-year-old Roy Jones, Jr. took on Joe Calzaghe for The Ring light heavyweight title at Madison Square Garden and things got ugly. Throughout Calzaghe's win by decision, he dominated Jones to the point where he started taunting him in the ring. This pic epitomizes Jones' fall from grace. Didn't he see the greats before him that met the same fate? Dude must've forgot...
Henry Cooper
3. Henry Cooper
Date: 8/6/1966
Fight: Henry Cooper vs. Muhammad Ali II
Henry Cooper and Muhammad Ali had a couple classic fights. Both ended with Coop being a bloody mess. In their second meeting, all it took was six rounds for Ali to leave Cooper looking like something that walked out of a Stephen King novel. There's no doubt dude had heart. We give him an A for effort... and a C- for execution.
Hasim Rahman
2. Hasim Rahman
Date: 1/6/2002
Fight: Hasim Rahman vs. Evander Holyfield
Let this be a lesson to all you disrespectful young'ns out there: Your elders can still whoop that ass. Hasim Rahman found this out the hard way when he took on the then 39-year-old Evander Holyfield. The massive swelling on Rahman's head was caused by headbutts, not Holyfield's fists. The Real Deal was awarded the technical decision when the fight was stopped in the eighth round. Dome shots, FTW! Ayo!
Billy Collins Jr.
1. Billy Collins, Jr.
Date: 6/16/1983

In what seemed like a surprising victory, Luis Resto beat undefeated Billy Collins Jr. mercilessly for 10 rounds. Resto and his trainer were later convicted of assault among other charges and sentenced to two and a half years. Collins suffered permanent eye damage and he was never able to box again. Less than year later, he ran his car into a ditch, killing himself instantly. R.I.P. More details on one of the ugliest moments in boxing and sports history can be seen in the Assault In the Ring documentary.
