The Halftime show has been a part of entertainment at sporting events since the 1920s. It all started when the owner of a dog kennel, Walter Lingo, sponsored an all-Native American football team, the Oorang Indians, to tour the country and promote his dog kennel.

The Halftime show has become more detailed and features a multitude of entertainment as it is obviously meant to entertain fans at live games. We'll see everything from marriage proposals to failed trapoline dunks. Remember Janet Jackson's unfortunate Super Bowl incident? Or M.I.A.'s bird flip? Here are the Worst Fails in Halftime Show History.

15. The Marriage Proposal Gone Wrong

Year: 2008

There's nothing more embarrassing than having your marriage proposal in front of thousands of eyes. We can't help but feel bad for the guy who attempted this at an '08 Rockets game.

14. The Eminem Show on ESPN

Year: 2013

Eminem made an appearance during halftime of an ESPN telecast of Michigan vs. Notre Dame to promote his video for his single "Berzerk." Em seemed to be in a daze after the showing and missed some questions from Brent Musburger at the beginning. It's an interview that's pretty funny, awkward, and random all at the same time.

13. Mr. Thunder Misses

Year: 2011

We share the same shock and disbelief that Jeff Van Gundy showed watching the clip. Oklahoma City Thunder mascot Rumble the Bison fails to connect on this high-flying stunt which is such a big disappointment. It's what he gets paid to do.

12. BMX Fail

Year: 2011

Damn, homie landed on his neck. Luckily that BMX biker was okay and able to make it back in one piece.

11. Dunk Yourself Through the Hoop

Year: 2011

When watching someone dunk off of a trampoline we expect to see some crazy acrobatics, but we never expect to see someone sky so high that they actually put their whole body through the hoop. How many points does that count for?

10. Talking All That Jazz

Year: 2007

WTF? Was this planned? Did the dunker not see the cheerleaders? We need answers.

9. Phil Mickelson Receives Chorus of Boos

Year: 2012

Phil Mickelson had the chance to earn $1 million dollars for a non-profit organization that provides new books for children in need. All he had to do was hit a golf ball from one end zone to another. The Halftime spectacle during a Monday Night Football game between the Broncos and Chargers turned sour when the pro golfer Mickelson failed to hit the target. At least Mickelson got $50,000 just for the attempt.

8. Bad Luck to the Fullest

Year: 2013

One lucky fan at a Hawks game turned out to be not so lucky. We hope he got another chance. That's not fair.

7. Texas Sized Failure

Year: 2010

It's hard enough to stick the landing in one of these BMX bike tricks. One rider unfortunately takes a hard spill, but no harm, no foul. That's the way it goes in struggle Arena football league halftime shows.

6. A Little Bit of Janet

Year: 2004

This unfortunate highlight is infamous and changed the way that Super Bowl Halftime shows are conceptualized. Jackson's "Nipplegate" accident on stage led to an embarrassing moment for the NFL and CBS. We would suffer through relatively safe choices of rock bands like The Who and The Rolling Stones for six years.

5. M.I.A.'s Message

Year: 2012

Who knew that a simple finger could cause so many problems? M.I.A. dropped a middle finger during her performance in Madonna's halftime show for Super Bowl XLVI in 2012. Madonna wasn't happy about it and everyone was outraged. The NFL even sued M.I.A. for $1.5 million over the finger. Of course, M.I.A. responded towards the suit. Can't we all just get along?

4. Gonzaga Fan Fail

Year: 2012

Holy shit. Peep how he just put his face in his hands and took the walk of shame. He should be banned from every basketball court in the nation.

3. Love, Actually

Year: 2012

You might've thought this was the first date with that awkward placement of the arm around the shoulder. You think Sarah Kustock took that job with the Brooklyn Nets and the YES Network to get away from her No. 1 "fan?"

2. The Missed Dunk Heard 'Round The World

Year: 2012

This video of an overweight fan attempting to jump on a trampoline for a dunk is pretty hilarious stuff. It being set to R.Kelly's "I Believe I Can Fly" makes it even a better viewing experience. And the Oscar for best soundtrack goes to...

1. The Goat of Halftime

Year: 2011

OMG. Is he serious? We would've just walked out of the gym and went home. He didn't make one shot. Not one.
