It’s hard to imagine a Clippers team without their high-flying center DeAndre Jordan. But with the Clippers in the midst of a down year, the Cavaliers are reportedly interested in potentially making that vision a reality. According to NBA reporter Sam Amico, the Cavaliers are "quietly exploring" the idea of adding Jordan to their roster, and while they haven't been overly aggressive in their pursuit of him just yet, that could change in the coming weeks as we get deeper into the 2017-18 NBA season.

At this time, it sounds like the Cavaliers are interested in trying to package Tristan Thompson, Iman Shumpert, and a first-round pick in exchange for Jordan. Basketball Insiders reporter Steve Kyler, citing league sources, reported a Clippers/Cavaliers deal involving Jordan might be closer than we all think. But for now, there's no real rush to get a deal done for either team. The Clippers would likely benefit from holding on to Jordan for another month or so since it could drive the asking price up for him substantially.

Jordan, who is currently averaging 11 points and nearly 15 rebounds per game, has been the subject of several trade rumors. The 29-year-old’s 4-year, $87 million deal will conclude after the 2018-19 season comes to a close. The NBA's trade deadline is Feb. 8, so there’s still some time for the trade to take place. Jordan, LeBron James, Kevin Love, and a returning Isaiah Thomas could make for a scary sight in the East.
