The Italian Industry Ministry is in talks to sell De Tomaso, a small scale automaker and one-time owner of Maserati. BMW's interest is reportedly on the rise, with De Tomaso a potential rival to the Volkswagen Group's Lamborghini and Porsche. The most recent De Tomaso concept, the crossover Deauville which debuted at the Geneva Motor Show, would be dead on current trend.
