Tom Brady has shared some positive words about his former teammate Antonio Brown, who's been trolling him in various social media posts over the years.
In his recent sit-down conversation with Logan Paul on the Impaulsive podcast, Brady opened up about his relationship with Brown, which hasn't been the same since the latter left his quarterback and team on the field in the middle of a game in 2022. Brown had recently shared an alleged Instagram DM between himself and Brady in which his former teammate sent him some encouraging words and reminded him to make his psychologist appointments.
According to Brady, he always wanted "the best" for Brown as he saw something special in him, especially how he picked up information during team meetings.
"I wanted the best for him, you know, I think I saw a spark in him that I thought if put in the right place, you know how incredible it could be for not just the team he was on but for his life and what he could accomplish," said Brady. "I always hoped for the best for him, and I met him, and I always admired him as a player, and then I got to play with him and I actually saw in the meeting room, like how he could take information and bring it to the field."
Brady added that some off-the-field troubles got in the way of Brown's time in New England, and the team decided to let him go. Brown teamed back up with Brady in Tampa Bay, and the latter felt he could help him, which would benefit the team and Brown's life.
"I just thought okay, if I can help him, like I'd love to help him, because he'd help our team, it would help his life, and then you know, I just again, I always root for the best," said Brady.
Brady and Brown first became teammates in 2019 when the New England Patriots picked him up for one season. They joined forces again for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and won the Super Bowl in 2020. However, the game in which Brown walked off the field affected his relationship with Brady.
Since that incident, Brown has made numerous public comments criticizing Brady, including allegations about his relationship with Brady's ex-wife, Gisele Bündchen.
