Jake Paul has reportedly lined up one of the biggest tests of his boxing career.
According to Ring Magazine's Mike Coppinger, Paul will face undefeated boxing superstar Gervonta “Tank” Davis in an exhibition bout on Netflix, scheduled for November in Atlanta. Exact details of the bout, such as weight class and the number of rounds, have yet to be confirmed.
When will Jake Paul fight Gervonta Davis?
This match is scheduled to take place on November 15th at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta. Netflix later reported that the fight would happen on November 14th. The city has a rich boxing history, such as Muhammad Ali's return to the ring in 1970 after a three-year ban. Four-time world heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield grew up in the city and helped elevate the sport there.
What is an exhibition match?
Fans looking for an official match where Davis and Paul will actually fight will most likely not get what they want, given that it's an exhibition match. These types of fights are non-competitive and primarily focused on entertainment and demonstration of skills, rather than determining a winner or impacting official records. Paul has gotten slack throughout his boxing career for having staged fights and taking on competition that aren't pure-bred boxers.
At one point, fans thought Paul would take on an actual boxer when word got out that he would be fighting Canelo Alvarez in May in Las Vegas, but those plans fell through. Paul recently revealed he would pursue litigation against anyone who questioned the legitimacy of his matches.
“If anyone says my fights are staged you will be sued and secondly you're a jealous ass peasant who cannot even believe how good I am at this sport and you should go to church to fix your insecurities,” wrote 28-year-old Paul. “I pray for you because I have so much love [for] humanity and that includes the people who are against me - genuinely I pray for you and I want the world to be in a better place 🫶🏼 you people are filled with a disease and I'm here to help you cure it.”
What has been the reaction to the news?
The matchup immediately sent shockwaves through both the boxing and entertainment worlds, with many divided over the bout. Paul continues his run of high-profile bouts against some of the sport’s biggest names, and fans will be tuned in to see how the YouTube-star-turned-fighter will fare against Davis, who boasts a 30-0-1 record with 28 knockouts and is widely regarded as one of boxing’s most dangerous punchers.
"Right here we go A proper boxer. We finally get to see Jake’s ceiling," one person tweeted. Another said, "Tank, this is pretty pathetic."
What were Davis and Paul's last fights?
Paul (12-1, 7 KOs) is coming off a string of victories that have bolstered his credibility in the ring, including one with Mike Tyson in 2024, but Davis represents a massive leap in competition, even in an exhibition setting. Davis last fought in March 2025 when he scored a draw against Lamont Roach, Jr. On the other hand, Paul's last bout came against Julio César Chávez Jr. in June 2025, which he won by unanimous decision.
