Conor McGregor may be making his UFC comeback on the White House lawn.

On Friday (July 4), after President Donald Trump announced plans to host a UFC event at the White House in July 2026 to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary, McGregor took to social media to throw his name in the mix and expressed his enthusiasm about possibly participating in the spectacle.

“Happy 4th of July, USA 🇺🇸,” McGregor posted on X. “Excited with President Trump announcing a UFC fight event at the White House. I would be honoured! Count me in.”

The tweet was accompanied by screenshots of an alleged conversation with UFC CEO Dana White, in which McGregor pitched his name for the event. In another tweet, McGregor shared an AI-generated image of himself having a face-off on the White House lawn.

Trump made his UFC announcement on Thursday, July 3, and claimed that 20,000 to 25,000 people would attend the event. There are also plans to host an athletic competition between high school athletes from across the country.

McGregor hasn’t fought since breaking his leg in July 2021 against Dustin Poirier. He was scheduled to face Michael Chandler in June 2024, but pulled out due to a foot injury. Since then, he’s remained active online, and his fighting future remains uncertain, especially as he's dealing with legal matters at the moment.

Earlier this year, McGregor was found liable in a civil case involving a 2018 sexual assault allegation in Dublin, and the appeal process is ongoing.
