Anthony Edwards is giving fans an unfiltered look at life on the NBA road, and he didn’t hold back when talking about his experiences in Memphis.

During a recent appearance on Sundae Conversation with Caleb Pressley, the Minnesota Timberwolves star was asked about the challenges of traveling during the season. Edwards pointed to Memphis as one of his least favorite stops, claiming the hotel conditions left a lasting impression.

“Especially when we go to Memphis, I be like ‘Damn,’” Edwards said. “Them hotels ain’t nothing in Memphis. Them shits be dirty. I walked into a Memphis hotel one time, it had stains and shit on the bed.”

His remarks also drew support from fellow NBA star Draymond Green, who said on his own podcast that his team had similar issues during visits to the city.

“[Anthony Edwards] is pretty blunt about it, but yeah,” Green said. “We stopped staying there because their sprinklers just went off for no reason in the room. Drenched all of Andrew Bogut’s stuff, and they didn’t want to do anything about it. So, it’s been an issue.”

Despite his criticism of the accommodations, Edwards has often thrived on the court in Memphis.

The Timberwolves face the Memphis Grizzlies several times throughout the regular season, despite playing in different divisions. The two teams have also met in high-stakes matchups before, including their 2022 playoff series.
