AJ Brown is speaking about the perils of being a successful NFL player, especially when it comes to their relationships with women.
A video of Brown speaking to a group of people, which the Toronto Sun reports were teens at the Delaware County Juvenile Probation Offices in Pennsylvania, shows the wide receiver shedding light on how success can warp a player's mind.
"These guys that's in the league getting in trouble with women, they got a fetish with women and doing little stuff, because when you have that type of money, dog, that stuff shows up because now its at your leisure," he said. "You can get any woman you want. You can pick and choose."
Brown also talked about porn, and how it can affect one's brain. "As men I feel like we need to sit down and we need to talk more about on some real time, porn. Right? And it's going to a whole other level because what porn does to your brain, it desensitizes your brain," he added. "You may think, like, oh man, she looks good or whatever. No, you're looking at it as an object, not as a human being."
Brown added that his teammates and other players can sometimes objectify women. "But I see that shit all the time from my teammates, my teammates talk about stuff, from other players and all this other stuff — that’s real.”
The NFL has seen its fair share of sexual assault allegations among its players. Most recently, Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker was accused of sexual misconduct by six different massage therapists, with allegations including exposing his genitals and making unwanted physical contact.
