The UCF Knights capped off their perfect season on Monday by edging out the Auburn Tigers, 34-27, at this year's Peach Bowl. In the 4th quarter, UCF jumped out to 14-point lead after Chequan Burkett picked off Auburn quarterback Jarrett Stidham and returned it 45 yards for the touchdown.

Auburn was able to cut the Knights' lead in half in the ensuing possession, but with their backs against the wall and the game on the line, UCF's defense came through with a game-sealing interception in their territory.

UCF finished the season as the only undefeated team in the nation, causing people to question the validity of the College Football Playoff system, especially when you consider that Auburn defeated two teams—Alabama and Georgia—holding down the final four spots.

UCF's performance points out why there's a legitimate need for an 8-team playoff system.
