The New York Post is reporting that Tim Tebow has trademarked "Tebowing." Filed by an attorney out of California named Anthony Keats on behalf of Tebow's marketing team, XV Enterprises Limited, the traditional on-field act by football players everywhere of going down on one knee and praying could potentially be seen as a patent offense.
While it all sounds a bit crazy, Tebow is maintaining that his intentions are in the right place.
With two letters of protest sent to companies like Tebowing.com and TebowingGear.com, it seems as though Touchdown Timmy is simply trying to prevent people from wrongfully profiting off of his gesture through the selling of shirts and other merchandise. Still, you can't rule out the possibility of Tebow putting that patent to use if this whole quarterback thing doesn't work out.
