Even the Dallas Cowboys are apprehensive about going after Johnny Manziel.
On Friday, the Cleveland Brownsreleased Manziel and immediately, speculation grew that the former Texas A&M star quarterback would eventually find himself in Jerry's World. According to the Dallas Morning News' David Moore, Johnny Football told those close to him that he "believed the Cowboys would express strong interest." He may be wrong.
While it may be in the best interest of the Cowboys to steer clear from Manziel, it's funny that they are using this wait until a player gets his life back in order approach now. Not when they selected defensive end Randy Gregory, who will serve a four-game suspension next season for violating the league's substance-abuse police, late in the second round of last year's draft after he fell off some teams' boards amid controversy during his time at Nebraska. Not when they signed Greg Hardy after he was accused of beating his ex-girfriend Nicole Holder.
This stance may only last for so long because owner Jerry Jones is enamored of Manziel.
