On Friday, Franklin Parish High School football player Tyrell Cameron, 16, was injured on a punt return in the fourth quarter of their game against Sterlington High, taken off on a stretcher and rushed to the hospital. At the time, the team's head coach was unaware of the severity of the injury, calling it "a very serious situation."

Later that night, sheriff Kevin Cobb confirmed that Cameron passed away after suffering a broken neck. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the young man's family.
