LeBron James opened up about his marriage with Savannah, admitting their relationship is not as "picture perfect" as some people may think.
In the latest episode of 360 with Speedy, James confessed that his marriage is as imperfect as everyone else's. "I'm gonna be honest, a relationship is never picture perfect," he said.
LeBron spoke candidly about the work that needs to be done, in order to maintain a sustained bond with his high school sweetheart, Savannah. "If you’re okay with working through the hardships and the adverse moments, then it will make it all worth it," he said.
James continued, "We’ve been together since high school, so, shit ain't always gonna be a bed of roses, in any relationship, let alone someone you're living with for over 20 years."
The Los Angeles Lakers star went on to outline the steps that he has learned from personal experience about keeping a marriage going strong.
"I think communication is number one. Being honest is number two," he said. "Number three is, just like, you have to be okay with being uncomfortable in relationships sometimes. You can't always have it your way, it's not gonna work that way."
LeBron and Savannah celebrated 12 years of marriage on Sunday. "Happy anniversary my beautiful 👸🏾🦋!!! ✨✨✨✨. I love you mama ♾️" James wrote in an Instagram Story post, accompanied by a photo of his wife from their anniversary dinner.
