Baltimore Ravens offensive tackle Eugene Monroe has created a website, eugenemonroe.com, in support the use of medicinal marijuana. Under "My Story," Monroe explains why he's calling for the removal of weed from the league's list of banned substances.

When speculation rose that Prince's death was caused by the use of opioids, Monroe stressed his concerns about the drug on Twitter because he has been prescribed opioids in the past to deal with pain.

Monroe has apparently found an alternative in medicinal marijuana and wants to do his part to raise awareness about the positive aspects of the drug. Especially in comparison to opioids, which, according to the Ravens offensive tackle's post, "71% of NFL players who reported taking opioids admitted to misusing them."
