On Friday, Mike Conley and the Memphis Grizzlies reportedly agreed on a five-year, $153 million contract, which would make him the highest-paid player in the league. As expected, the news was met with its fair share of disbelief and utter shock on Twitter. User @Alshmighty heaped the criticism on and, for some reason, decided to rope Damian Lillard into the conversation.

Lillard proved to be a stand-up guy and came to the defense of his fellow point guard.

If any point guard in the league were to take issue with Conley's new deal, it might be Lillard. Just one year ago, Dame signed a max contract with the Trail Blazers worth $120 million over five years, which seems like chump change in comparison to what NBA players are pulling in this summer.

Plus, when comparing the two, the accolades speak for themselves. Lillard already has two All-Star selections and a 2013 Rookie of the Year award to his name. How many All-Star Game selections does Conley have? Zero. What about a Rookie of the Year award? Nope. Even with all this ammunition in his favor, Dame would rather be positive and supportive instead of complaining and trying to tear Conley down.

Respect, Dame.
