Deadspin recently revealed quite the interesting story. Back in 2007, Jerry Jones and the Cowboys organization missed out an opportunity to acquire the rights to Cowboys.com because of a communication error.

When the domain name went up on auction, it was sold "for about $100,000 more than what the Cowboys would've paid." After the sell, the site was unused for five years until Wednesday when Cowboys.com made its grand reveal as...wait for it...a dating site for "gay & straight dating people looking to find themselves a cowboy."

This puts a whole new spin on the "Big D" nickname, huh?
