In an absolutely frightening scene at Yankees Stadium tonight, New York Yankees pitcher Bryan Mitchell was hit the face with a line drive off the bat of the TwinsEduardo Nunez.

As Mitchell was getting looked at by team trainer Steve Donahue, you can see the blood pouring from his face.

With a towel covering his bloodied face, the 24-year-old pitcher made his way off the field with the help of Donahue. No word yet on the extent of Mitchell's injuries. He was taken to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital for what is being called a "full evaluation."

UPDATE: Mitchell sustained a small nasal fracture.
