South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer is responding to the viral incident in which a Texas state trooper bumped and yelled at player Nyck Harbor during a Texas A&M game.

Video of the incident circulated widely on X, sparking criticism against the unidentified police officer.

Even NBA superstar LeBron James weighed in, slamming the trooper. The video shows the trooper bumping into Harbor and another player in the tunnel. He then points a finger and yells at Harbor.

The Texas Department of Public Safety then revealed that the officer was sent home.

Beamer was asked about the incident at the post-game press conference, and he indicated that he did not see it. But he supported the authorities' action.

“That’s good to know. I would hope so,” Beamer said. “I did not see that. Wasn’t aware of that. Got a ton of respect for the people here in College Station. It’s a first-class operation, everybody, from a game operation standpoint. They do a great job and are first-class people, so I appreciate them handling that the right way and sending him home.”

Authorities responded swiftly with public statements after the November 15 incident.

“We are aware of the incident in the NE tunnel involving a DPS trooper. He has been relieved of his game day assignment,” Texas A&M police wrote on X.

The Texas Department of Public Safety also weighed in and confirmed that the trooper was one of theirs. The DPS wrote on its X page, “The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is aware of the incident that occurred today during the Texas A&M football game. The DPS Trooper involved was sent home from the game. Our Office of Inspector General (OIG) is also aware of the incident and will be further looking into the matter. No additional information will be released at this time.”
