Will Smith's home run in the 11th inning gave the Los Angeles Dodgers a World Series victory and made him the hero of the series.
That has a lot of people wondering about Smith's family. The Dodgers' player is married to his wife, Cara Martinell Smith, and they have two kids.
According to Sports Illustrated, Will met his wife in Louisville, Kentucky, at a birthday party before he was a baseball player. She was a teacher but is now involved with the family's nonprofit.
They met while both attended the University of Louisville, according to People.
The family's foundation, the Catching Hope Foundation, is "focused on providing better opportunities for kids in LA and Louisville communities," its Instagram page says.
Cara frequently posts photos of her family on Instagram. "We are going back to the World Series," she wrote with a photo showing her, Will, and their two young kids.
Will is a 30-year-old catcher on the team. According to SI, he married his wife in 2020, and they have two daughters named Layton and Charlotte.
"Happy birth month to my October babies!! 3 & 1… I wake up thankful every day that these girlies are mine🧁💕" Cara wrote in October with a photo showing her with the girls.
She sometimes gushes about her husband on Instagram, writing, "Words can neverrrr describe how proud I am of you! You work SO hard day in and day out!! Always cheering you on, William Smith."
On Father's Day, Cara wrote, "Happy Fathers Day to the best girl dad!! You truly do it all - from being the fun dad to also cooking, cleaning bottles, changing diapers, cleaning up toys & sooo much more! Our girls are lucky to have a dad like you - we love you so much 💕😘🫶🏼."
She accompanied the caption with a photo showing Will swinging his daughter in the air.
