Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham has demanded that fans stop throwing dildos onto the court during WNBA games.

Before the Fever played against the Dallas Wings on Friday (August 1), Cunningham posted a warning on X to those who’d be in attendance at the American Airlines Center that evening.

"Stop throwing dildos on the court… you’re going to hurt one of us," she wrote.

The post garnered mixed reactions, mainly insults, some who rudely shrugged off Cunningham’s valid concern about the sexist prank, and others who blamed the women’s professional basketball league.

"Throwing sex toys is protected by the first amendment. If you hate America and the constitution, I recommend leaving," one X user posted, while another wrote: "It's up to the league and the players to navigate this. Balls in your court."

Sex toys have repeatedly been hurled at players during recent games, like a neon green dildo landing on the court on Tuesday (July 29) while the Golden State Valkyries played against the Atlanta Dream. After a referee kicked it off the court, security wrapped the sex toy in a towel and had it tossed.

In a post-game conference per The Atlantic, Valkyries forward Cecilia Zandalasini called the incident "super dangerous," although she acknowledged that the teams were "laughing" at the disruption.

But the incident happened again during another Valkyries game, this time against the Chicago Sky, on Friday (August 1), roughly eight minutes into the third quarter at Chicago’s Wintrust Arena. After noticing the toy, a referee kicked it off the sidelines while another employee used a towel to have it removed.

Sky forward Angel Reese joked about the incident on X, telling Fever guard Sydney Colson to stop tossing the “mean green in different arenas.” “It’s getting weird,” she said, to which a fan replied with an edited version of Kelsey Plum's viral long throw video with green dildo in hand.
