Green Sex Toys Thrown at Multiple NFL Games Following ‘Disturbing’ Trend That Began With WNBA

The object was promptly tossed from the field by a referee, similar to recent WNBA games.

Attendees of a recent Cleveland Browns vs. Cincinnati Bengals game were witnesses to another green sex toy being tossed on-field. A similar incident occurred in Indianapolis, when the Colts took on the Dolphins, per People.

On Sunday (September 7), a green dildo was flung onto the turf of Cleveland's Huntington Bank Field, which a referee picked up and tossed onto the sidelines. The moment was caught on video by spectators, many of whom laughed at the sight of the sex toy just months after similar versions were thrown onto the court at WNBA games. The last NFL match where a similar green dildo was spotted on-field was the Minnesota Vikings versus Tennessee Titans on August 22.

Although the league hasn't spoken on the matter yet, the WNBA has largely admonished the presence of sex toys during games, which could potentially injure a player if thrown too close. Over the summer, multiple green dildos have been thrown during WNBA games, which have resulted in a string of arrests, with one alleged perpetrator being as young as eighteen.

Earlier last month, a mystery cryptocurrency enthusiast, known as "Lt. Daldo Raine," told ESPN that the stunts were a coordinated effort to promote a coin created by his group. The coin began trading on July 28, and one day later, a green sex toy was thrown during the fourth quarter of the Atlanta Dream vs. Golden State Valkyries game.

Authorities are making an example out of those who participate in the trend, like Dayton, Ohio resident Charles Burgess, 32, who's facing multiple assault charges after a 12-year-old girl was struck in the right leg by a toy during a New York Liberty game.

"It's super disrespectful," Chicago Sky player Elizabeth Williams said of the trend. "I don't really get the point of it. It's really immature. Whoever is doing it needs to grow up."
