David Robinson Says He Tried to Reach Out to Kawhi Leonard 'Several Times'

Former Spurs legend David Robinson said he reached out to Kawhi Leonard multiple times, as the drama between Kawhi and the Spurs played out, and never heard back from him.

Witnessing Kawhi Leonard's transformation from underappreciated superstar to bane of San Antonio was an interesting spectacle to witness (from afar), but now it's over with Kawhi in Toronto.

Now that he's out, the majority of San Antonio's headache is behind them (at least until it's time to hype Toronto's visit to the Spurs' AT&T Center) but that doesn't mean we can't still learn of Kawhi-related drama that was going on behind the scenes during the prolonged duration of all that BS. One such revelation became public on Monday, when ex-Spurs legend David Robinson told ESPN's Rachel Nichols that he tried on several occasions to reach the unhappy star while all this was playing out, but he was never able to get Leonard to actually pick up his phone:
