LeBron James' Hollywood aspirations have hit some unexpected roadblocks. With Giannis, KD, James Harden, and more reportedly declining roles in his Space Jam sequel for various reasons, James has been struggling to find other NBA superstars to join him on set. However, it seems that at least one player is willing to share the screen with King James. His Laker teammate, Lonzo Ball, said he's open to being a part of the film.

On Tuesday, Ball stopped by the set of Bleacher Report's House of Highlights show, and said he'd "love" to be in LeBron's sequel to the 1996 classic.

"You gotta ask [LeBron]," Ball replied when asked if he'd make an appearance in Space Jam 2. "He knows I'd love to be in it. So, we'll see. We'll see what happens."

Per The Hollywood Reporter, the reason Space Jam 2 has not solidified its NBA cast is because the plot will be starkly different from the original. Unlike its predecessor, Space Jam 2 will not lean on cameos from a collection of players. Instead, it will center around James' family arc with a soon-to-be-cast teen hooper playing the film's second lead. Although the film will reportedly start production during the Lakers' lengthy off-season, it is said that Warner Bros. understands that James' primary focus is his NBA career. As a result, Space Jam 2 is not expected to hit theaters until at least the summer of 2021.
