The hero of Stephen F. Austin's shocking Tuesday win over Duke is being rewarded with a wave of generosity.

Just hours after Nathan Bain pushed SFA past Duke with a last-second layup, a GoFundMe page that was set up to help Bain's family skyrocketed to reach its goal. Bain's family is from the Bahamas, where their property, as well as the church where his father preaches, were destroyed by Hurricane Dorian. The Stephen F. Austin athletic department started the GoFundMe page shortly after the hurricane in hopes of raising $25,000 for the Bain family.

Before Tuesday night, the page had received just $2,010 from 26 donors and no one had donated to the cause in over a month. But people decided to show gratitude to Bain for knocking off the Blue Devils by giving money to his effort.

Most of the money came in increments of $85, in homage of the Lumberjacks' final point total. By 9:45 a.m. ET on Wednesday, SFA and Bain had surpassed their goal, which didn't stop people from giving thanks. As of 11:17 a.m. ET, the goal has been raised to $50,000 of which they've received $37,683.
