It took four overtimes to decide a winner in Friday's game between the Atlanta Hawks and Chicago Bulls. But the Bulls eventually came out on top, 168-161, in the third-largest point total in NBA history.

The match between the non-playoff contenders was the highest-scoring in over 30 years. With a sum of 329 points, the two teams fall behind only Spurs-Bucks in 1982 (337) and Detroit-Denver in 1983 (370).

Chicago's win was also the third time the franchise had three players eclipse 30 points in one game: Zach LaVine put up a career-high 47, newcomer Otto Porter Jr. dropped in an even 30, and Lauri Markkanen put up 31. The last time this happened for the Bulls was in 2015 when Jimmy Butler (43), Derrick Rose (34) and Pau Gasol (30) went off during a loss against the Pistons.

As for the Hawks, Trae Young continues to chase down Luka Doncic for Rookie of the Year. Young put up a career-high 49 points along with 16 assists and 8 rebounds. He's the third rookie in history since the 1976-77 season to put up consecutive 35-point, five-assist performances. Michael Jordan and Allen Iverson are the other two.
