Someone grab their teeny, tiny violin. LeBron James is not happy that he still hasn't nabbed a single Defensive Player of the Year award. The 4-time MVP and 2-time NBA champion is "highly upset" the Defensive Player of the Year award continues to elude him, according to USA Today Sports reporter Jeff Zillgitt.
Recall that James griped three years ago that "it sucks" that he's never been handed the NBA Defensive Player of the Year award. He's since received far more coveted awards, like the regular season MVP, NBA Finals MVP, and league titles with the Heat. Plus, you can throw in six consecutive NBA Finals appearances. However, not being able to add a Defensive Player of the Year award to his trophy case is still eating away at James, apparently.
James wants to win 'em all, and we're not talking about another title. Can't the NBA understand the King needs to round out his trophy collection? Even in a position to beat the Warriors in Game 7—which would be the city's first major sports title in over 50 years—James still isn't content. Someone needs to console dude with a serious hug.
